Not gAssHat

I'm into electric bikes like the X-Treme XB-200Li because I hate gas. Everything about it. The cost. The smell. The pollution caused by it as cars and trucks everywhere spew hydrocarbons out of their tailpipes. Welcome to another installment of 'Don't be a gAssHat'!

And so when I heard X-Treme Scooters is offering a new folding electric bike, the smallest yet, I almost pissed myself I was so happy. The XB-200Li super folding electric bike is a full size bicycle that folds down to a ridiculously small size of only 25” x 31” x 7”. It comes in at only 39.5 lbs. This makes the bike so easy to handle and store that I can easily see it replacing heavier models that are a bit harder to handle.

As I was taking the XB-200Li out for a test spin around town today, I quickly came to realize that this is a top of the line folding electric bike with a lightweight, strong welded aluminum alloy frame.

Power is provided by a 7-pack lithium ion battery pack that's so lightweight that I can see you being able to easily carry a spare in your coat pocket, so that you can go even further and faster than ever. On a single charge, unassisted by your pumping legs, it can go 25 miles. With a spare, that's 50 miles, long enough to get you around town in a single day, and of course if you pedal, you can probably triple that distance pretty easily.

I liked the stopping power of this funky little XB-200Li, too. The front and rear WinZip disc brakes bring you to a complete stop pretty quickly, which is handy for those occasional emergency situations, like when a stupid kid jumps out in front of you, or an asshole car driver cuts you off. The steering on this baby is pretty responsive, so between that and those sweet brakes, it's pretty easy to avoid problems. Oh, and the throttle immediately cuts off when you brake, so you don't have to worry about easing off on the throttle when you want to stop. The XB-200Li does that for you!

The 300 watt brushless motor is located in the rear, which directly drives the rear wheel. It has a pretty nifty variable speed twist throttle, which is comfortable enough to use all day long. The seat is spring loaded and cushy, so your butt won't get too stressed by a day of riding too.

I can see using this bike to not only get around town, but to go camping with too.
