I was able to take the X-370 out for a test drive earlier today, and I spent the early afternoon tooling around town, not only for fun, but to actually run some real errands. And what I found was that not only is this a great little electric scooter whose price sticker won't shock the shit out of you, it is a well designed scooter that will have others shooting you envious glares as you ride around.
The X-Treme X-370 is a classically styled scooter that has a durable ABS plastic “dolphin style” body covering a high tensile strength steel frame that is as strong as an ox. It's good looking, yes, but it's also packed with high quality components that assure you of not only a great ride, but a safe and reliable one as well.
Capable of reaching speeds of up to 21 mph, the X-Treme X-370 scooter is powered by a 350 watt, chain driven electric motor that directly drives the rear wheel. The battery pack is a 3-cell unit delivering a 36 volt, 30 amp punch to the engine, which is a full third more than its closest competitors, who offer only two batteries. It can carry you as far as 20 miles on a single charge, and as the battery pack is portable and lightweight, it's easy to carry a spare to swap out to double your range. Recharge time is a mere 4-6 hours.
Coming to a stop is easy as pie due to the rear drum braking system which offers an inhibit safety feature that automatically disengages the throttle when the brake lever is pulled.
The X-Treme X-370 clocks in at a mere 59 lbs., and is capable of handling riders up to 300 lbs. with ease. It measures a sweet 46” tire to tire in length, and is 25.5” wide at the handlebars and 41” tall. For transport and storage, the handlebars can be easily folded down to a height of 22”.
Speaking of tires, they are high quality 12.5” x 2.25” pneumatic air rubber, and combined with the super soft, spring loaded, shock absorbing seat, makes the ride nice and easy.
