Not gAssHat

The Evo 2x Big 50cc Gas Scooter Powerboard is this weeks featured “Don't Be A gAssHat” review. When I need to get around fast, I have come to trust Puzey Motor Corp.'s new Evo 2x. And if you know me, you know that I always need to get around fast!

The Evo 2x has a massive 50cc, 2-stroke engine that puts out an impressive two horsepower, which can get you moving at a top speed of 35 mph. The motor is EPA approved and air cooled, and uses a unique 2-speed belt drive transmission that provides raw power to the chain-driven rear wheel. This model is a gas sipper, getting 85 miles to the gallon.

The conveniently located pull starter made it easy to start this Evo Powerboard. Once I got going, I found the throttle to be comfortable and responsive to the touch, and had to hold on as the scooter accelerated quickly. I really liked the lightweight motocross style handlebars, which were easy to turn to get the bike moving quickly and easily around obstacles.

The Evo 2x has a nifty 2-speed belt drive transmission that drives the chain driven rear wheel with raw power. Shifting was simple with the handlebar mounted thumb shifter. And when it came time to come to a stop, I found that it excels at braking, due to its front and rear vented disc brakes.

Comfort issues, you say? The Evo 2x gas scooter has that covered. The front “Cam-Link” suspension system offers you a smooth ride and excellent resistance when landing after jumps and other rider tricks. The comfortable, fully padded bicycle style seat doesn't cramp your butt muscles.

The Evo Powerboard 2x sure is one strong and reliable scooter too. It's packed with top of the line components that leaves its competitors behind. The high tensile steel frame is complemented by a CNC aluminum deck, a combination that can really take a pounding out on the trails.

Adjustable to any size rider, the Evo 2x can accommodate riders up to 265 lbs. Its standing size is 29” x 24” x 50”, but to make it easy to transport and store, Puzey designers made this scooter able to fold down and lock into position at a nifty 36” x 24” x 18”.

I decided to take a look at the chain, and found to my delight that it has a unique “One-Touch Tensioning” system that allows you to tighten the drive chain with a simple and easy movement, all without having to align the rear wheel.

What a well made, fun scooter the Evo 2x is. Well done, Puzey, well done.
